the heART of Port Colborne

George Sanders

All my life I have ‘been an artist. I started drawing at four and painting at twenty. I have continued to work in two or three dimensional media all my life. My work at present is mainly large drawings in full colour and acrylic painting.  Scholarships paid for my basic education. Afterwards, I taught in the School of Interior Design, Ryerson Poly Technical University (Toronto) for 32 years. In addition to my teaching I worked on many architectural and theatre design projects. I have continuously exhibited in juried, solo or group shows. I have exhibited in Canada, the U.S.A., Mexico and England. My work is in collections in all these countries. In the last ten years I have exhibited frequently,  often with two major shows a year.  As President of the Society of Canadian Artists I was active in the setting up of the John B. Aird Gallery at Queens Park, Ontario. I continue to contribute to the work of the society in its efforts to develop and popularize the work of contemporary artists.
